The Jeep Avenger electric SUV at the 2022 Paris Motor Show

At the 2022 Paris Motor Show, Jeep showed off its first battery-electric car, the new Jeep Avenger (BEV).

The Jeep Avenger electric SUV is the first in a line of high-performance, fully electric cars designed for the European market. It is also vital to the brand's plan to become the world leader in SUVs by using electrification worldwide. From the beginning, the Avenger was designed and built like a Jeep. It is a compact SUV with a unique mix of capability, style, functionality, and technology to meet the needs of customers who are always connected.

The new Jeep Avenger electric SUV is made in Tychy, Poland's highly efficient Stellantis plant. It comes standard with Selec-Terrain and Hill Descent Control. The vehicle's unique angles of attack, exit, and ground clearance make it one of the most capable vehicles in its class.

As for electric power, the Jeep Avenger has a new 400-volt electric propulsion system that uses a new electric motor and a new battery.

Using a 100 kW direct current Mode 4 cable connected to a fast public charging point, it only takes three minutes to charge enough to go 30 km or 24 minutes to charge the batteries from 20% to 80%.

The new Avenger is a small SUV that was made with the needs of European customers in mind. It is only four meters long, putting it in the fast-growing B-SUV segment, the second-largest in Europe.

By 2023, sales of B-SUVs are expected to reach 2.2 million per year, equal to one out of every five vehicles sold in Europe. The new Avenger fits below the Jeep Renegade in the B-SUV segment and adds to what Jeep offers.

The Jeep Avenger electric SUV will hit showrooms early next year. Still, customers in most European markets can pre-order the exclusive 1st Edition, which is attractive and comes with everything. From this afternoon, customers can access the pre-booking through the jeep-official website.

Because of this, it's a good and exciting choice for Jeep fans who want a zero-emissions alternative different from the other cars in the segment. The new Jeep Avenger aims to attract more customers by appealing to people with active lifestyles who want a modern design that works well and is small outside but has a big interior.

And to celebrate this important new step toward "zero emissions freedom," Italian Jeep dealers will hold "4xe Week" from October 18 to 23. This is when they will show off the 4xe Plug-In Hybrid SUVs, the most popular low-emission vehicles in Italy, with a 17.1% market share in the first nine months.

The Jeep Avenger has a new electric drive system consisting of a new electric motor and battery. The new Avenger is fun to drive on and off-road thanks to its high power and torque.

Emotors, a joint venture between Stellantis and Nidec Leroy-Somer Holding, is the first company to launch the second generation 400 Volt electric powertrain. It has a maximum torque of 260 Nm and a maximum power of 115 kW, equivalent to 156 horsepower.

Stellantis also makes the new 54 kWh battery, which has a high energy density and a good ratio between nominal and usable energy. In particular, the battery pack comprises 17 modules and 102 cells that use the NMC 811 lithium-ion model. Avenger has 400 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle and 550 km in the urban cycle.

The battery has been tested for more than 2 million kilometers. It is tiny and doesn't take up much space. It fits under the front and back seats and the tunnel in the middle. It also has a high ground clearance and underbody plates to protect it when driving off-road.

It is easy to charge the new Avenger. Using a 100 kW DC Mode 4 cable connected to the fast public charging point, it only takes three minutes to charge enough to go 30 km or 24 minutes to charge the batteries from 20% to 80% full.

Considering that European people drive an average of 30 km per day, the car probably won't need to be charged for days. Using an 11 kW Mode 3 AC power cable connected to a Wallbox or public charging station, it is possible to "fill up" (go from 0% to 100%) in 5.5 hours.

An essential part of a Jeep SUV is its ability to go off-road. Thanks to 4xe plug-in hybrid technology and now fully electric powertrains, this is now done in a more environmentally friendly way.

The new Jeep Avenger is the first front-wheel drive Jeep to come standard with Selec-Terrain and Hill Descent Control. This, along with the vehicle's excellent approach, departure angles, and ground clearance, makes it a model for the segment.

The Selec-Terrain system has six modes: "Normal" for everyday driving, "Eco" to improve fuel economy, "Sport" to make driving more fun, "Snow" to get the best grip on icy roads or paths, "Mud" to improve performance in mud and grip, and "Sand" to reduce the chance of getting stuck on sandy soils.

The car's design makes it as small as possible without sacrificing any things that make Jeeps unique. The new Avenger is just 4.08m long, 16cm shorter than the Jeep Renegade. It has short overhangs in the front and back, making it look more proportioned. It also stands out on the road because it has bigger wheels than you'd expect for a sizeable car.

Due to its short overhangs and large wheels, the jeep Avenger has the best-in-class ground clearance (200mm) and the best approach (20°), ramp (20°), and exit (32°) angles, which are essential for off-road driving but also valuable for the city.

The Avenger uses a "design approach" that gives a modern take on Jeep style in a small frame. The front of the car has the brand's signature 7-slot grille, which used to be vertical but is now more horizontal to make the car work better.

The folded grille is put in front of the front headlights to protect them in case of a crash. The Jeep's classic design also includes bumpers that stick out. These bumpers give the Jeep a feeling of strength and sturdiness and a solid, commanding presence both on and off-road.

The Jeep Avenger electric SUV stands out because of its impressive 18-inch diamond rims, which have a strong design and are mounted on tires that are 690 mm in diameter. The shape has been carefully made to be as aerodynamically efficient as possible and give a sense of movement. This is emphasized by the floating C-pillar, which is now a standard feature in today's range.

Low-speed collisions cause about 70% of European accidents, so the new Avenger has underbody plates, 360-degree cladding, and covered front headlights.

In particular, the front headlights are set back and high up to protect them in a low-speed collision. The new SUV's underbody plates are also made of polymer with color printing.

Even if they get scratched, the damage can't be seen. Also, the coating is thicker and more protective in places like doors and windows that get the most sun.

2022 Jeep Avenger

The new Avenger has features that aren't found in other cars in its class, such as premium seats with electronically adjustable leather inserts with massage function, multi-colored ambient lighting that makes driving at night less stressful on the eyes, and a prominent sunroof. The side lights stay on when the tailgate is open for extra protection and safety.

The center console has also been made to give the driver and passenger as much space as possible. The new Avenger is the roomiest car in its class. It has 34 liters of front storage space, much more than the 15 liters of the average vehicle in its class. This fantastic result was reached by making the most of every space and making storage spaces that were both useful and roomy.

The center tunnel's dividers are flexible and modular, so they can be moved to fit different-sized objects or even taken out to make room for bigger ones. Under the buttons for the automatic transmission, there is more usable space that is protected by a magnetic cover that folds up. You can charge your phone and put away a 1.5-liter water bottle in this space.

The trunk also follows the rules of "Design to function." The volume is one of the best in the segment (380 liters), the trunk's loading height has been lowered to 720 mm, the width of the tailgate has been increased to over one meter, and a hands-free electric tailgate has been added, which is rare in this segment.

The new Jeep Avenger also comes with many services and features that can be used remotely. The Jeep Mobile App lets users find their car's location right from their phones. Users can also lock and unlock doors, check battery levels, set climate controls, charge the car, and talk directly to the Avenger through a voice assistant.

The Jeep Avenger has many features that help the driver. It has a level 2 autonomous driving system that changes speed and direction automatically and uses Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centering.

The system helps the driver stay in their lane and keep the car in the middle of the road and a safe distance from the vehicle in front of them. This makes driving more relaxing. Also, level 2 autonomous driving includes Traffic Jam Assist, which makes driving even in heavy traffic easy and comfortable.

The new Jeep Avenger electric SUV has Traffic Sign Recognition, which reads and interprets road signs; Automatic Emergency Braking with recognition of pedestrians and cyclists, which slows the vehicle down until it stops to reduce the risk of accidents; the Drowsy Driver Alert, which warns the driver if a moment of drowsiness makes it hard to pay attention; Blind Spot Monitoring, which keeps an eye on the driver's blind spot; and Lane Keeping Assist with Active Park Assist (coming later) and a 180° rearview camera.
