In the sneaker world, Tom Sachs is best known for his Mars Yard designs, which debuted in 2012 and 2017. Before 2022 is over, the 55-year-old American designer appears ready to add another point to his partnership with Nickcraft with the release of the General Purpose Shoe, which recently debuted in a yellow-hued hue . Reminiscent of the tennis-style Killshot 2, this low-profile shoe has a more satisfying design than Sachs' other footwear offerings. Durable suede and reinforced mesh make up the entire upper of this shoe, and the wedge pattern on the sides is printed on it. Pull tabs on the tongue and heel infuse non-standard features into the court-inspired shoe, which has been featured in other Nike projects by the Tom Sachs brand. The built-in lining and breathable tongue also provide improved functionality for the universal shoe, allowing the wearer to tie the shoe for any and all tasks. On the foot, the sole does not appear to feature the cushioning solutions found in the Nike running collection, opting instead for an ostensibly EVA foam midsole and rubber outsole combination; the latter maintains a waffle pattern rooted in the Swoosh performance tradition.
