1. Purpose of this Policy
This policy provides a comprehensive framework governing refunds, cancellations, reversals,
credits, disputes, and related matters on the ORU Social platform.
2. Nature of Digital Services
ORU Social provides digital services including social networking, advertising, premium
subscriptions, marketplace access, learning content, crowdfunding services, and wallet-based
transactions. Due to the digital, instant-access nature of these services, most purchases are
non-refundable.
3. General Refund Rules
Refunds are granted only where required by applicable law or explicitly stated. ORU Social may
issue platform credits instead of cash refunds.
4. Premium Membership Subscriptions
Premium Memberships (USD $500 per year) are non-refundable once activated. No refunds apply
for partial use, cancellation, non-usage, or early termination.
5. Advertising & Sponsored Content
All sponsored advertising purchases, including Pay-Per-Click campaigns, are non-refundable once
activated.
6. Marketplace Transactions
ORU Social is a platform provider and not the seller. Refunds, returns, and disputes are the sole
responsibility of the merchant. Marketplace fees are non-refundable.
7. Courses, Digital Products & Learning Content
Digital courses and learning materials are non-refundable once access is granted, except where
delivery failed due to a verified platform error.
8. Crowdfunding, Tips & Donations
All crowdfunding contributions, tips, gifts, and donations are final and non-refundable.
9. Wallet, Payments & Cryptocurrency
Wallet and blockchain transactions are final and irreversible. ORU Social is not responsible for user
errors or market volatility.
10. Duplicate Payments & Billing Errors
Refunds may be considered for verified duplicate charges or billing errors reported within seven (7)
days.
11. Refund Request Procedure
Refund requests must be submitted via email with full transaction details. Requests are reviewed
within fourteen (14) business days.
12. Approved Refund Processing
Approved refunds may be processed to the original payment method or issued as platform credits.
13. Chargebacks & Disputes
Unauthorised chargebacks may result in account suspension. Users should contact ORU Social
first.
14. Abuse & Fraud Prevention
ORU Social reserves the right to deny refunds and terminate accounts engaging in abuse or fraud.
15. Shareholder & Debenture Refund Policy
ORU Social may issue non-voting shares or debenture instruments. Refunds of shareholder capital
are not guaranteed and may only be considered under exceptional circumstances, subject to board
approval, liquidity, performance, and legal compliance. Sales representatives are not authorised to
promise refunds or guaranteed returns.
16. Consumer Protection Compliance
This policy aligns with South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act, Companies Act, and electronic
commerce regulations.
17. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
